Fishing in the Crimson Desert is the practice of catching fish in rivers and lakes using a rod, line, and hook, timing each catch perfectly. How to get the fishing rod?

The first step to fishing in Crimson Desert is getting a fishing rod. There are two main ways:

• Buy from a supply store using copper coins;
• Find them for free in boxes near rivers

Even in the early areas, like Hernand, there are already accessible points of sale. If you prefer to save money, it's worth exploring the riverbanks, where some crates may contain the item. After obtaining the fishing rod, it needs to be equipped in your inventory. Without it, you won't be able to start fishing.

To equip it, you must follow the steps below:

• Open the equipment wheel;
• Select the fishing rod;
• Confirm the swap in place of the bow or other active item

After that, go to a place with water. It can be a river, lake, or any area that allows interaction. When you aim at the water, an indicator appears on the surface. When this signal changes color, it means the spot is ready to cast your line.

After finding a valid point, do the following:

• Aim at the water;
• Cast the hook following the indicated command;
• Wait for the fish to make contact

How to identify the moment of the bite?

While waiting, you will notice movements in the water accompanied by sound. The most important pattern is:

• Three taps or movements in the water

After the third fish, that's the right time to pull the hook. If you pull it too soon, you won't catch it. If you wait too long, the fish will escape. This timing is one of the most important parts of fishing in Crimson Desert.

How do you control the fish after hooking it?

After the hook is set, the control phase begins. The fish will try to escape, and you need to react correctly:

• Move the rod in the opposite direction to the fish's movement;
• Keep adjusting as it changes direction;
• Wait until it slows down

When the fish slow down, you can start reeling in the line. To do this:

• Use the indicated recoil command;
• Continue adjusting the direction of the rod;
• Finish the hunt when the fish is close enough to reach the target

If you do this correctly, the fish will be added to your inventory.

Types of rods available

As progress is made, new tools become available. Each one facilitates parts of the process:

• Refined Rod: can be crafted with materials;
• Pororin Rod: acquired through missions;
