Prepare for battle!
Defeating the Ender Dragon in Minecraft is one of the most memorable moments. However, what many people don't know is that it's possible to face this boss again. So, if you've already been through the first battle and want a rematch, this guide will help you prepare everything properly.

What happens after the first defeat?
After defeating the Ender Dragon in Minecraft for the first time, the famous exit portal appears, the one that takes you to the end credits and gives you access back to the overworld. However, upon returning to the End, you notice that the dragon is no longer there. That's where the summoning process comes in.
To do this, you need to create four End crystals. These are the same ones that are on top of the towers during the fight and restore the dragon's energy. Without them, there's no way to summon the creature back.
Materials needed to get started
First of all, you'll need to gather a few items. There's no point in rushing. Crafting End crystals requires you to collect specific materials:
- Ender's Eyes;
- Ghast's Tears;
- Glass blocks
This part might take a while, but if you already have a good foundation in the game, you'll be able to handle it. The secret is to take it slowly and be patient.
Preparing Ender's Eyes

You need four Eyes of Ender. To craft them, the first step is to eliminate some Endermen and obtain End Pearls. You will need four of these.
Next, it's time to find blaze rods. They come from Blazes, which are found in the Nether. By transforming two blaze rods, you obtain four flame powders. Combine the powders with Ender Pearls to form the four Eyes of Ender you need.
Ghast Tears: Where and how to obtain them?
This is one of the items that requires the most attention. Ghasts are those white ghosts that shoot fireballs in the Nether. You need to eliminate at least four of them to guarantee one tear per crystal. Sometimes it's not easy, because they don't always drop the tear. Therefore, you may need to face more than four to get them all.
Glass blocks
You will also need 28 glass blocks . To do this, collect 28 sand blocks. Take everything to a furnace and melt it using any type of fuel. Assembling the End crystals
With all the materials gathered, it's time to head to the crafting table. Use an Eye of Ender, a Ghast Tear, and seven glass blocks to make a crystal. Repeat this four times. Don't skip any steps. Each crystal has to be perfectly aligned to work.
Arriving at the End portal
After assembling the four crystals, the next destination is the End portal. If you already have it activated, great. Otherwise, you'll need to use more Eyes of Ender to find and activate it. Once there, go to the exit portal (the one that appeared after the first battle) and place the crystals at specific points: one on each side.
When the last crystal is placed, you'll notice the power being restored. The pillars reappear, the crystals reappear on the towers, and an explosion marks the return of the Ender Dragon to Minecraft.
Preparing for the rematch

The fight is about to begin again, and it may be even more intense than the first. Since you already know the dragon's attacks, use that to your advantage. Bring bows with plenty of arrows, enchanted armor , and, if possible, healing and regeneration potions.
Pay attention to the crystals on the towers, as they still recharge the dragon. Destroying them all before focusing on it can make things much easier. And watch out for the Endermen nearby; they remain a problem.
What to do after the second battle?
Defeating the Ender Dragon in Minecraft a second time doesn't get you back to the credits, but it's still very worthwhile. The dragon drops more XP and the portal remains functional. You can continue visiting the End, explore the floating cities, and even search for Elytra, one of the most coveted items in the game.
Oh, and you can repeat the process whenever you want. You just need to craft four more End crystals.
Mastering the process of summoning the Ender Dragon in Minecraft also shows that you've reached an advanced level. After all, gathering the items, facing the Nether, and building everything correctly isn't for just anyone.
