Capcom has revealed new details about Resident Evil Requiem , and what was shown goes far beyond simple promotional scenes. It's clear that the aim now is to deliver two very different ways to control each character, without breaking the franchise's identity. The presentation included long gameplay segments, new mechanics, and confirmed important information about the release and prices in Brazil.

New gameplay footage of Resident Evil Requiem has been released

Right from the first few minutes of the showcase, it becomes clear that the company decided to bet on strong contrasts. While one protagonist deals with more intense situations, the other faces moments marked by constant tension and limited resources. See the details below!

Leon Kennedy and Grace Ashcroft are the main characters in the game

Leon Kennedy returns as a playable character with a more aggressive and direct . During the revealed scenes, you'll notice that combat gains new possibilities with melee attacks, special executions, and creative use of improvised weapons . One of the most talked-about new features is the Tomahawk axe, which can be sharpened, used to block attacks, and even for silent takedowns.

Now there is also the possibility of temporarily using weapons dropped by enemies, such as chainsaws, creating unpredictable situations in the midst of confrontations.

On the other side is Grace Ashcroft, a new character who brings a very different approach. Her path is closer to classic survival horror , with few resources, limited ammunition, and encounters focused more on tension than direct confrontation.

She uses the Requiem revolver, a powerful weapon, but with extremely restricted use, designed only for critical situations. This completely changes her relationship with her enemies, since attacking isn't always the best approach. Often, observing, maneuvering, and calculating each step becomes essential to moving forward.

Director Koshi Nakanishi explained that the intention was to create two distinct ways to conduct the progression, respecting who Leon and Grace are within the narrative. This choice affects not only the gameplay, but also how you approach each area, each enemy, and each available resource.

Despite these differences, both share secondary tools and some strategic devices, which creates points of connection between the styles. Thus, Resident Evil Requiem maintains narrative cohesion while offering clear contrasts in the handling of each character

First-person and third-person camera views can be switched at any time

Next, another highlight revealed was the ability to freely switch between first-person and third-person views throughout the campaign. This change can be made at any time, without restrictions on character or specific situation.

Thus, it completely alters how you perceive the environments, the distance to enemies, and even the reading of movements during confrontations. In more tense sections with Grace, the first-person view intensifies the feeling of proximity to danger. With Leon, the third-person perspective facilitates control of the surrounding space during more direct combat.

Capcom stated that Resident Evil Requiem was designed from the ground up to work well in both modes, preventing the camera switch from feeling artificial or compromising progression.

New systems and features

In addition to changes in camera angles and character styles, the game brings back the item crafting system, inspired by mechanics seen previously in the franchise . To create certain resources, you need to gather specific materials, such as infected blood, which adds strategic layers to decisions made while exploring areas.

Among the new devices is the Specialized Injector , capable of preventing mutations in corpses, completely altering the dynamics of certain confrontations. This means that, instead of just reacting to enemies, you will be able to shape their behavior according to the resources available.

Unusual partnerships and exclusive items

The showcase also revealed some interesting collaborations involving the game. One is with Porsche, resulting in a customized Cayenne Turbo GT that appears in scenes with Leon. Another partnership involves Hamilton, which will launch two themed watch models inspired by Leon and Grace, with a limited edition of four thousand units in total.

In addition, an Amiibo of Grace and a themed Pro Controller for the Nintendo Switch 2, following the visual style of Resident Evil Requiem, were announced. Action figures of the two protagonists are also planned, although they will not be part of an official special edition.
