With exclusive titles and the arrival of major market classics, the Switch 2 promises to be one of the most impactful launches in the industry. Among the highlights of the Switch 2 games are Mario Kart World, an RPG from FromSoftware reminiscent of the iconic Bloodborne, and the presence of Elden Ring and Cyberpunk 2077.

The big release: Mario Kart World

Opening the event with a bang, Nintendo revealed Mario Kart World, which will be released alongside the Switch 2 on June 5th. The game will maintain the essence of the franchise, but introduces significant new features. Now, the races take place in an open world, where players can explore diverse regions, face weather challenges, and compete in races with up to 24 simultaneous competitors.

Furthermore, the Grand Prix has been redesigned to eliminate gaps between tracks, making the competitions more fluid. New game modes, such as Knockout Tour and Free Roam, will bring differentiated experiences to long-time fans. Nintendo has already confirmed that a special event, dedicated exclusively to Mario Kart World, will take place on April 17th to reveal more details about the title that is part of the Switch 2 games.

The Duskbloods: the exclusive that evokes Bloodborne

Another big surprise from the Direct was The Duskbloods, an action RPG developed by FromSoftware and exclusive to Switch 2. The game is directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki and features a dark open world, full of creatures inspired by vampire folklore.

Featuring cooperative multiplayer elements and different playable classes, The Duskbloods should maintain FromSoftware's DNA, delivering challenging battles against imposing bosses. A special interview about the game will be published on April 4th, with more details about its setting and gameplay.

Furthermore, FromSoftware confirmed that Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition will also be released for Switch 2 later this year. However, the inclusion of the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion has not yet been confirmed.

Price of games for Switch 2

While the Switch 2 game lineup is impressive, the prices of titles for the console will also be adjusted. Nintendo confirmed that digital games will cost up to US$80 , while physical copies may reach US$90 . Prices in Brazil have not yet been officially revealed, but considering that some titles have recently reached R$400 , a significant price increase is expected here. However, Nintendo's pricing policy may vary depending on the game. Donkey Kong Bananza, for example, was listed at US$70 , suggesting that some titles will have different prices depending on their production and development scale.

Besides the games for Switch 2, which was a big question mark, a major mystery surrounding the Switch 2's launch was its price in Brazil. During the Direct, Nintendo revealed that the console will cost US$450 in the United States, which is equivalent to approximately R$2,567 in a direct conversion (without taxes and fees). However, considering the tax burden and the historical pricing of Nintendo consoles in Brazil, it is estimated that the final price of the Switch 2 could exceed R$4,000 .

The future of the Switch 2

With an impressive initial library and a strong commitment to new technologies, the Switch 2 arrives to solidify Nintendo as one of the most relevant forces in the gaming market. In addition to the titles already confirmed, many more games for Switch 2 will be announced in the coming months, making the console an attractive platform for both casual and hardcore gamers.

Now, we just have to wait and see how the public will receive the new console and if it will be able to repeat the success of its predecessor. One thing is certain: there will be no shortage of games for the Switch 2 for those who decide to invest in Nintendo's new video game console.
