The new phase of Marvel Rivals has begun; see the changes
The time has come to prepare. Since April 11th, Season 2 of Marvel Rivals has been underway. And if you thought the premiere was impactful, what's coming in the next few months promises to make it even better. Below, understand how everything is changing within the game, from matches to alliances between characters, and what to expect from the upcoming seasons.

Shorter seasons, more content
To begin with, one of the major changes the development team announced is a reduction in season length. Previously three months, each season will now only last two . This means Marvel Rivals will accelerate the pace of new content. Instead of waiting months for a new character, a new hero now arrives at the beginning of the season and another appears halfway through.
Chronofichas: A new way to get yours

Furthermore, one of the most discussed topics among Marvel Rivals players was the difficulty in accumulating enough Chronotokens to unlock everything the Battle Pass offers. Now this has been adjusted: in addition to daily missions and normal challenges, new specific missions will be added to your routine every week, making it easier to obtain Chronotokens. The total number of Chronotokens remains the same, but the way they are distributed has become more flexible, which is already a great improvement.
With the victory against Dracula in Season 1, the peace didn't last long. The new season begins with Emma Frost celebrating… but the party is interrupted by the appearance of Ultron. Emma has been available since the 11th. Ultron will arrive halfway through the season.
Both are characters with new abilities and unique interactions that promise to change the way you think about your matches in Marvel Rivals. The new Hellfire Gala – Krakoa map is also now playable, offering a scenario with strategic paths to surprise your opponents.
Not to mention that Marvel Rivals has finally made customization more fun. Now you can change the color palette of some skins you already own, making your hero's look exactly how you want it. And the best part: you can also send skins as gifts to friends.
Collaborative skills: The key differentiator of Season 2

Emma Frost arrived with a bang, bringing with her unprecedented collaborative abilities. The concept of duos was maintained , but some adjustments needed to be made. Some old combinations were deactivated or modified to maintain balance. This is part of the game's ongoing development, as Marvel Rivals relies heavily on this interaction between heroes to create unpredictable matches.
Captain America, Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange, Magneto, Psylocke, and many other characters have gained or lost specific abilities depending on the pairing they form. Therefore, total attention is needed: understanding who is paired with whom and what this combination unlocks can make all the difference in the heat of battle.
Adjustments to competitive mode
The ranked has also changed. At the start of the new season, everyone lost nine levels. It was a general reset. Those who were at the top now need to fight again, and this shakes up the competitive scene quite a bit. In addition, another change is the increase in the minimum level to participate in ranked matches: now you need to reach level 15. Furthermore, the possibility of banning characters from Gold III rank onwards has arrived, which can completely change the flow of matches. The Krakoa map has entered the competitive rotation , while others like Yggsgard and Tokyo 2099 have been temporarily removed.
The way points are counted has also changed. Those who excel in the match, even in a loss, will lose fewer points. And those who perform very well in a victory will gain more. This was a long-standing demand from the community, which is now beginning to be met. In Marvel Rivals, real effort and personal performance will have more weight in the ranked system.
Replays from seasons 0 and 1 will no longer be available , so anyone who wanted to save those epic matches will need to save them manually. Network protocols have been improved to make the system more fluid. While this means losing access to old files, it's an important step towards improving stability in future recordings.
Did you like the changes in Marvel Rivals?

Since its release, Marvel Rivals has attracted attention precisely because it does something few titles have done: focus on fast-paced battles, established characters, and building strategies in pairs. The Collaborative Skills system is a clear example of this. By connecting characters with such different histories, the game creates situations that surprise even those who are already well-versed in the comics.
And with the reduction in season length, this frequency of new features should keep the community even more engaged. Those who play now will witness the construction of a new cycle within team-based PvP games.
